STUDIO ZAG Architecture

ZAG noun: zag, plural noun: zags 1. “a sharp change of direction in a zigzag course” verb: to zag 1. “make a sharp change of direction” (cit. Oxford Dictionary) ZAG represents our method: a non-linear design process continuously informed by data (context, client, economy, environment, materiality...) which change/adjust/invert the direction of the project, until the best possible solution is achieved. The “ZAG” represents for us the very precise moment when an idea takes shape and changes everything. ZAG is an architectural office working between Italy and China. Directed by the founder Cristiano Bianchi, ZAG operates in the fields of architecture, urbanism and interior design. NARRATIVE ARCHITECTURE represents our poetic: a way of finding inspirations, envisioning and composing the project, and giving identity and legitimation to it. We consider architecture as storytelling: we build a specific narrative for every part of our project, and every design choice is based on a story. We search for exhisting stories and we invent new ones, interconnected and layered as a whole. Stories that people can recognise, understand, share with us and tell to others.
