A “call me later” is not a next step.
It’s usually a polite escape.
Real interest sounds different:
“Send me the pricing.”
“Can we book Thursday?”
“Looping in my cofounder.”
“How long does onboarding take?”
That’s movement.
But vague follow-ups?
That’s pipeline purgatory.
A lot of reps lose deals because they confuse politeness with intent.
If there’s no clear next action:
- calendar invite,
- specific time,
- defined reason,
- decision process...
...it’s probably not real yet.
Painful lesson, but a necessary one lol.
