Exploring the Future of Saudi Food Delivery: Value Capture and Sustainable Models
Saudi food delivery had a strong 2025. 36% growth. SAR 24 Bn GBV. Nearly 20% of foodservice spend.
But for me, the more interesting question is not growth. It is who captured the value. Consumers clearly gained through discounts and free delivery. But platform economics came under pressure, and restaurants, especially SMBs, felt the margin hit.
Demand is clearly there. Online food ordering is now a structural part of Saudi consumer behavior.
But the next phase needs a healthier model, and we already see the signs. Less subsidy-led volatility. More sustainable economics for consumers, restaurants, riders and platforms.
We are discussing the full analysis in a closed-door Redseer briefing next Wednesday, May 20 at 2 PM KSA.
