Great Wheelbarrow Race Raises Over $55K for FNQ Health Services

Who would have thought that four teams, pushing wheelbarrows from Mareeba to Chillago, would raise more than $55,000 to improve health services in FNQ?
That's what happened this weekend in the Great Wheelbarrow Race.
The Downunder Movers and Shakers team delivered an outstanding effort, raising an incredible $45,092 for the Foundation’s Neurology Department. Their commitment, determination and community spirit will help support better healthcare outcomes for patients across Far North Queensland.
The Duesbury Tax Tigers also achieved a remarkable result, raising $9500 for Mareeba Friends of the Hospital Foundation . Their fundraising efforts will make a meaningful difference to local health services and patient support initiatives in Mareeba.
Also supporting Mareeba Friends of the Foundation were the St Stephen's Catholic College Junior and Senior teams, whose enthusiasm and dedication embodied the true spirit of the race. Every kilometre completed and every dollar raised contributes to stronger healthcare support for our community.
Congratulations to Mareeba Shire Council, the event committee, along with every participant, volunteer, sponsor and supporter who helped make the event such a success.
