Retired Police Dog Officer's Inspirational Journey and Community Fundraiser
Imagine seeking medical attention 41 times during your career as a police dog squad officer.
They almost always work with just their dog (often placing their life in the dog's paws), they are first to respond to critical incidents, they tackle tough, bushland terrain and they often come face-to-face with baddies and their weapons.
Such was the life of retired Sergeant Dave Raymond and one of his police dogs Vader.
But Dave does not feel sorry for himself. Instead, in this time of adjustment from shiftwork, "throwing" heavy German Shepherds over three metre fences - he's thinking of others.
"I'm just so grateful for what the hospital has done for me and my family over the years, I want to give back. I want to start repaying my debt".
So Dave and MC John McKenzie are hosting a special lunch for us and you are all invited.
