One of the most common questions I get from MSP owners is: "Do I need to be running Google ads?"
My answer is always the same: pull up your office address on a map first.
Where you sit relative to your buyers decides everything.
If your office is in the city center, or just outside, surrounded by the kind of businesses you want as clients, organic SEO, referrals, and a solid Google Business Profile can carry you a long way. Buyers in your zip code are going to find you naturally.
But if you're 20+ minutes from the business hub, the math flips entirely.
Your buyers open Google, see five MSPs closer to them, and start calling those first. By the time they would scroll to you, they've already booked discovery calls with three of your competitors.
That's when ads stop being optional. They become the only way onto the consideration list before someone closer closes the deal.
The lesson: there's no universal answer on paid vs. organic for MSPs. The right answer is hiding in your geography.
