NYIAC Event Highlights: Specialized Tribunals Shaping Arbitration
⚖️ #Arbitration by #Design: The Rise of #SpecializedTribunals⚖️
Last night, #NYIAC convened practitioners to explore how specialized tribunals are changing the arbitration landscape. Topics included arbitrator selection, procedure and enforcement, use of experts, industry norms, and award drafting and publication, across 5 distinct tribunals, spanning intellectual property, art, sports, esports, competitive gaming, maritime, and financial services.
Hearty thanks to delegates that braved the snow, to the esteemed speaker set (below), and #Cleary for hosting us in style:
* Mark J. Abate (Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP) re World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO ;
* Aaron Haines (Schindler Cohen & Hochman LLP) re Court of Arbitration for Art;
* Jonathan Levin (ESL FACEIT Group - EFG) re International Games and Esports Tribunal;
* Jeffrey Rosenthal (Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP) re Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS);
* Robert Shaw (Seatrade Holdings) re Society of Maritime Arbitrators, New York (SMA); and
* Angela Turiano (Scarinci Hollenbeck, LLC) re FINRA.
It's a busy event season at NYIAC! Join us #March17 for a #Vis #FiresideChat with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, #March19 for our International Lawyers' Committee #AfricaWorkshop, and #April29 for a #Caselaw Year in Review with JAMS. Check out our events calendar here:
