Discover Swiss Diplomacy and Foreign Policy Insights from Bern Trip
From gaining insights into diplomacy to discussing the impactful work of a Swiss foreign policy think tank, our recent trip to Bern with the foraus Regiogruppe St. Gallen had it all! 🌍
Last week, our group travelled to the Swiss capital for a memorable day of exchanges centred on Swiss foreign policy and related career paths.
Our first stop was the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, where Anna-Lina Müller, board member Association du Corps Diplomatique Suisse, welcomed us and walked us through the responsibilities of the EDA - DFAE - FDFA and the process of entering a diplomatic career in Switzerland. Her insightful and supportive first-hand perspective left a lasting impression. As a first-generation academic, I was particularly thankful for the detailed look into the various paths leading towards a diplomatic career. Thank you again for taking the time!
After exploring the city, we headed to the foraus - Swiss Forum on Foreign Policy office in Bern for an in-depth look at the organisation’s research and publications. It was a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas with the great people who make all of this happen. Connecting with the team and understanding foraus’s mission as a grassroots movement underscored the value of the foreign policy network that it is.
Thank you to everyone involved for making this day happen! It is always a joy to see what a network of kind and driven people foraus truly is. 🩵
