Expert Insights on Sport, Human Rights, and Geopolitics at Think&Drink Event
📣 Last week we hosted the final edition of this semester’s Think&Drink events, bringing together experts Guido Battaglia from the Centre for Sport and Human Rights and Maureen Rosita OJONG EBOB-BESONG MSc. MBA to discuss #sport, human rights, and #geopolitics ahead of the upcoming World Cup. ⚽
🗣️ The event offered a unique opportunity for exchange between sports diplomacy practitioners. We explored sport’s power to promote dialogue and cultural exchange, grassroots sports diplomacy, the responsibilities of different actors, and how greater collaboration, transparency, and accountability can ensure sport’s benefits are equitably shared.
But this was not the only focus of our exchanges throughout the Think&Drink semester, which featured a series of thought-provoking discussions:
💡February: Humanitarian action, mediation, and hope-based communication with Ingrid Münch and Séverine Ambrus
💡March: AI and water governance, in collaboration with FIFDH Geneva, with Graham Alabaster and Jean Willemin
💡April: Libya, 15 years after the intervention, with Felix Tusa and Jeremie Smith
The Think&Drinks are part of foraus’ informal afterwork event series, connecting experts from International Geneva and beyond with students and young professionals.
This concludes another inspiring semester – a heartfelt thank you to all our speakers for sharing their expertise, to Rhonna Lisbeth Crawford Herr for organising and moderating these events, and to everyone who joined us. 🌟
We look forward to welcoming you back in September for a new semester of conversations and exchanges. 🍸🩷
