Record-Breaking Apparel Imports in June 2026: What It Means for Future Trends

June is supposed to be a warm-up month for apparel imports. In 12 years of US-inbound booking data, the annual peak has never once landed in June.

June 2026: 21,434 TEU. The strongest June in the series, up 79% year over year, and higher than any single month in 2023, 2024, or 2025.

Two details worth watching: woven apparel (HS 62) more than doubled year over year and nearly matched knit for the first time. And Vietnam and Cambodia drove 64% of the gain.

Either 2026's real peak is still ahead, which puts the July 2019 record of 26,218 TEU in play. Or fall inventory is moving early and the traditional peak flattens.

July's data will settle it.
