According to Sharyn Jackson with the Minnesota Star Tribune, burger expert George Motz updated his “Hamburger America” guide, and 9 Minnesota burger joints made the national list.

The best part? This was not just a Jucy Lucy popularity contest. These places had to have a burger on the menu for 20+ years, a great burger, and a real story behind them. Which feels very Minnesota, honestly. We do not need trendy foam sauce. We need a griddle, a paper basket, and somebody’s grandpa saying, “It’s always been good here.”
