Seth Rogen's Strong Stance Against AI in Screenwriting Sparks Industry Debate

Seth Rogen just gave Hollywood's clearest pushback on AI yet.

At Cannes last week, promoting his hand-drawn animated film 'Tangles,' he was asked about AI in screenwriting. His answer was blunt:

"If your instinct is to use AI and not go through that process, you shouldn't be a writer, because then you're not writing. Go do something else."

He went further: "The idea of a tool that makes me write less is not appealing to me, because I like writing."

The timing is what makes it land. Rogen just won four Emmys for co-creating 'The Studio.' 'Tangles' premiered at Cannes to a seven-minute standing ovation. Every frame hand-drawn. No AI.

His quotes puts a question on the table that every creative industry is now wrestling with: does AI free creators to do more, or does it quietly strip out the process that makes the work worth doing in the first place?

What's your take? Efficiency, or erosion?
